Shriners Hospitals for Children — Twin Cities’ board certified surgeons and care providers have been providing high-quality medical care for children in a family-centered environment since 1923.

Located in Minneapolis, their 40-bed hospital and clinic focuses on treating children with orthopaedic (muscle, bone and joint) conditions, cleft lip and palate, and specialized plastic surgery needs in an environment designed to put children at ease. Every member of their staff, from surgeons to therapists, to nurses to prosthetists work together to ensure the best course of treatment for each patient. As a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, they have direct access to Mayo Clinic resources and expertise.

Crescent Cove (Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota) | Innovative Office Solutions

Crescent Cove – formerly Children’s Lighthouse of Minnesota – is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building an independent home to provide short respite breaks for children with life-limiting conditions and families, and an option beyond the hospital or home environment for compassionate hospice care at the end of life.

The first of its kind in the Midwest and the fourth to be built in this country, Crescent Cove offers a family-focused environment. Along with therapy rooms and recreational space, family suites are designed so families may stay together while enjoying a temporary vacation from the constant demands of caregiving. Skilled, on-site professionals provide daily care, meals, pain and symptom control, and therapies that include music, art and hydrotherapy.

Children and kids 0-21 years old may stay at Crescent Cove in one of 8-10 bedrooms for respite stays and as a sacred place at the end-of-life. The home also offers 3-4 suites so that the family may remain close, if they choose, while receiving physical and emotional respite – and have the opportunity to develop meaningful and supportive relationships with other families with similar experiences.

Making an Impact in the Classroom…Soccer Style

Not everyday do kids get the chance to interact with professional soccer players.
